Don't let the word "Curator" fool you.
It means a lot more than you think.
When people see the word "Curator" on my resume, they usually think of white gloves and dusty shelves. They picture someone moving artifacts around in neat little boxes. I do not move boxes, I open them.
What I do is take vague, ambitious ideas and turn them into something real: the concept, the plan, the people, the budget. The thousand small details that make it happen. I've led a team of ten through a 10,000-square-foot museum expansion while keeping the public engaged through every phase of construction. I built a gallery's brand identity from nothing and directed a poster campaign that won a Gold Medal from the New York Society of Illustrators. I helped produce a TV ad that drove a 150% jump in attendance. I took an idea called BEES! and turned it into a national touring exhibition that booked solid for three straight years running.
At my core, I'm a storyteller. I research and build narratives about people, places, and things, from radio scripts and documentary films to exhibit content, press releases, and PSAs.
I operate like an Iron Chef in the workplace. Give me a random box of ingredients, a tight budget, or limited resources, and I'll find a way to make something amazing happen. I adjust, problem solve, and learn new skills on the fly. I turn mission statements into real products and experiences.
I'm a personable, charismatic connector, with internal teams and public audiences alike. I love being out in the community, collaborating with people, and using my public speaking background to negotiate, influence, and make a lasting impression.
Right now, I'm making a deliberate move: taking this track record of building big, complicated things from scratch and putting it to work in places where that same skill set, concept to execution, idea to audience, is exactly what the job actually is.
